Mozilla removed a Security Feature in Firefox 4 Beta version and it leads a Phishing attack!!!

I got one email from Twitter (Actually from a hacker) as “Twitter Notification” in subject line. Thank god I didn’t follow the link. A hacker sent an email as exactly looks like Twitter notification email. While mouse hovering the links it shows fake URL in the Browser STATUS Bar. Then finally I came to a conclusion it is the Phishing email and reported as “Phishing” in Gmail itself.

I am not using Firefox 4 Beta version because they removed the most important security feature called “STATUS Bar”. In the 12th beta version they are showing the URLs as popup status and it is displaying only half of the URL. If the fake URL is very long means, you could not see it the mouse hover.

This Screenshot has taken using Firefox version 3.6.15.

“Status Bar is not only important for developers also for everyone in this world surfing the internet via web browsers”

For more than 3 months, we are commenting, voting, discussing for this feature in Firefox community forum itself. But I don’t know what happened to that guys working in the Mozilla community. One day they came and closed the thread by putting the “completed” status. See the old thread here. And again we started a new thread and it is growing every day. If you like this feature share with your friends and ask them to vote in this forum thread.
